First records fall in the 2026 BAL season

As the 2026 Kalahari Conference reached its fifth game day, two BAL records came to an end.

Promising from day one, this season's Kalahari Conference reached a climax with the Al Ahly Ly vs Dar City game, the only game of the day on Tuesday, 31 March.

The Libyan champions, Al Ahly Ly, took to the court in desperate need of a win after losing their opening two games, and Dar City paid the price in remarkable fashion.

Al Ahly Ly led from the outset and outplayed Dar City 118–97, the highest score in BAL history. This was the highest score since APR defeated Al Ittihad Alexandria 123–90 in the 2025 BAL Third-Place Playoff at the same SunBet Arena.

Furthermore, the BAL assists record, which had stood since the 2022 season, was broken when Al Ahly Ly playmaker Damion De’von Baugh dished out 18 assists. The previous BAL assists record had been held by Adonis Filer (REG) and Hameed Ali (Dakar Universite Club), who had achieved 16 assists each.

And this season has only just begun!
